Mat worked as a Musical Theatre actor before retiring and pursuing a career in body work. Performing on West End to Worldwide stages and across the big screen with people such as Lionel Richie, Tommy Steel and Kermit the Frog. Shows including ‘Footloose‘, ‘Dr Dolittle‘ and ‘The Muppets - Most Wanted‘ make up just some of his previous work. After making the decision to step away from performing, Mat's love of movement and the way in which the human body works drew him towards Soft Tissue Therapy.
Mat gained a Btec level 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy from the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM), and has been a member of the Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage (ISRM), which is driving the standards of therapists, since 2014.
Approaching ‘massage’ from a more clinical prospective, Mat uses his skills and experiences to provide treatment to not only relieve symptoms but to provide long term fixes where possible. Offering advice on simple life changes to counteract any negative situations potentially causing the dysfuntion, from simple daily stretches to meditative time outs, Mat draws on his knowledge to provide you with a service, second to none.
A graduate of the Life Of A Yogi teacher training from Sri Dharma Mittra in 2010, Mat has a grounding in a traditional classical yoga and is humbled and blessed to be able to continue in passing on the teachings of his beloved Guru through his ‘Drop-In’ weekly classes and his private 1:1's in Dharma Yoga.
Mat is a qualified Bike Fitter and Cycling coach helping you at any age and ability to get the most out of yourself and out of your trusty steed.
Regularly attending courses to increase the standards of his treatments, Mat has qualified in Medical Acupuncture, Kinesio Taping®, Myofascial Release, Baby Massage & Yoga, and Sports Trauma Management.
